Winter Olympic Milano Cortina 2026: Skrlik Ready for Trials After Climbing CTRS Rankings All Season
This is such an exciting moment, it's everything we've been working toward, said Kayla Skrlik from Calgary, the star skip of one of the women's teams named to compete at the trials held at Halifax's Scotiabank Centre.
When we reviewed our last season, it wasn't surprising to see our name on the trials list, added Skrlik, who plays out of the Garrison Curling Club. I was keeping a close eye on the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) all year, especially the one-year and two-year point totals. Even though we started the season ranked 10th, we knew we had a lot of ground to cover.
A total of eight women's and eight men's teams earned spots in the Home Hardware Canadian Curling Pre-Trials, based on their rankings in the 2024–25 CTRS standings. They also had to meet the same eligibility rules as teams headed to the Montana Canadian Curling Trials.
